Review - Royale Brothers Burger

I recently got the chance to try a Burger from what I read on the internet to be one of the best burger places in Melbourne.  Located on Church Street in Brighton which happens to be a two minute drive from where I live now are the Royale Brothers.  I've had a craving for an excellent burger for a while now and I haven't been able scratch that itch.

Come inside to see what I thought of this burger that everyone on the internet raves about.

I purchased the "Bacon Royale" which has all the standards for a Bacon Burger, Beef, Bacon, Cheese, Tomato, Onion, Lettuce, Pickles, Mayo, Mustard and Special Royale Sauce.  Looking at the picture of the burger it doesn't really look that magnificent, but often that is the case with a good burger.  It doesn't have to look perfect it just has to taste incredible.

My perfect opinion of the Bacon Royal is that it is:

That said, I after what I've read on the Internet I was hoping for it to be good enough for me to consider it among my Top 10 favorite burgers ever, but alas I can't honestly say that it did.  There was just... something missing that kept it from reaching those heights for me.  I can't pick exactly what it was missing, and I certainly can't cook burgers to the standard I want myself.

Although it's not perfect, it is a good burger and I can definitely see myself eating from the Royale Brothers until I kill off my current burger fascination.  Next time I will have the Bacon Royale again but without onion, lettuce and tomato and see how that goes.

With regards to the chips, they were fantastic.  Soft on the inside and just the right amount of crispy on the outside with the perfect amount of salt.  But when it comes to chips I'm not as picky.

The best burger I have ever tasted in my life came from OnTopBar with the burgers at TGI Friday's a close second.  I'm so badly looking forward to trying a Burger from Easey's when it opens because for some unknown reason I am expecting great things - lets hope I'm not setting myself up for disappointment.

I'm almost decided that my favorite food in the world is a good burger - but a decent or bad burger can be a horrible experience.  I am extremely picky when it comes to a good burger and I'm sure by most people's standards the Royale Burgers would be right up there.  So if you want to check it out for yourself - follow the map below.
